Over the years we have completed chimney repairs, chimney lining, stove installations and sweeping work across many towns in East Kent, including Canterbury, Whitstable, Margate, Deal, Folkestone and the surrounding villages. Each property presents different challenges — from period cottages requiring careful brickwork repairs, to modern homes needing efficient flue systems for new stove installations.

A selection of recent domestic chimney jobs completed by Allchimneys Kent. These projects demonstrate the standard of our work across Whitstable, Herne Bay, Minster, Birchington and surrounding areas — from chimney lining and repairs to sweeping, pots & cowls and wood‑burning stove installation.
Specialist rope-access and steeplejack chimney work — often completed without scaffolding, helping reduce project costs.
Following inspection, the fireplace opening was enlarged and structurally supported to allow correct flue alignment. A stainless steel flexible chimney liner was installed and connected through a closure plate system, improving draw and ensuring safe long‑term operation.
Repairs restored stability and weather resistance to the chimney head, including reseating of existing chimney pots on a slate/mortar bed, installation of a creasing tile stringing course, and a new sharp sand/cement flaunching finish to improve rainwater drainage away from the chimney head.

Following a chimney survey and smoke draw test, signs of flue leakage were identified before a new stove installation. The chimney was relined with a stainless steel flexible liner to ensure safe operation and allow the flue to be swept correctly through the appliance in future.

External twin wall insulated flue system installed in Whitstable for a free-standing multi-fuel stove. 125mm diameter, black-painted finish to match the roof covering. Works included fitting of the 45° roof flashing plate and flue terminal, with the system fully commissioned on completion.
Chimney pointing and brickwork repairs were carried out to stabilise the stack and restore weather resistance, using safe rope access methods and our bespoke ridge platform to complete the work without the need for scaffold.

Rotary power chimney sweeping and blockage removal carried out as part of a sweep and safety check to restore airflow and keep the appliance operating safely.

New chimney pots with fresh flaunching and installation of a vented chimney cap and cowl with bird-guard mesh.

The redundant fireplace was removed, the opening widened and a new slate hearth installed. A new chimney lining and register plate were fitted before the wood burning stove was assembled on site and the appliance commissioned with operating instructions given to the customer to ensure safe operation.
Local chimney inspection and maintenance work carried out in Wingham village with St Mary’s Church spire visible from the roofline. This location has particular significance to our team, as traditional steeplejack works were carried out on the same spire by a previous generation of the Hunter family.

Chimney stack rebuild in Aylesham involving careful dismantling of the deteriorated structure and reconstruction using reclaimed and matching bricks, with new creasing tiles and flaunching installed for weather protection.

Domestic chimney stack repointing project in Ash carried out using a bespoke ridge-mounted working platform to ensure safe high-level access while restoring the structural integrity of the masonry stack.

Full chimney sweeping service carried out in Eastry including complete liner cleaning using specialist rotary sweeping equipment and high-filtration vacuum extraction to remove soot deposits and restore safe flue operation.

Full fireplace construction project in Sandwich including masonry build, hearth installation, protected lintel system, and installation of an internal insulated twin-wall flue system terminating safely above roof level.

Mechanical chimney fan installation in Folkestone following diagnostic flue inspection which identified restricted airflow. The fan improves draw performance and prevents smoke spillage within the decorative open fireplace setting.

Fireplace structural modification in Hythe involving removal of deteriorated historic brickwork and installation of a new structural lintel to safely support the chimney opening prior to hearth renewal and finishing works.

Routine wood burner service and safety inspection in Margate including flue checks, appliance testing, and verification of clearance distances and hearth compliance to maintain safe operation.

Multi-fuel chimney lining installation in Broadstairs featuring a 200 mm liner connected directly to a stainless-steel gather hood to improve flue performance and ensure safe operation of an open solid-fuel fireplace.

Wood-burning stove installation completed in Ramsgate including final safety inspection, draught testing, and commissioning procedures to confirm correct appliance performance and safe operation before customer handover.

A chimney liner installation project in Wingham where our engineer provided on-site consultation to determine the correct flue terminal specification prior to installing a new flexible stainless-steel liner for connection to a wood-burning appliance. The installation ensures correct draft performance, improved safety, and full compliance with current building regulations.

First fix twin wall insulated flue installed through a newly constructed ground floor extension. The system was securely bracketed and aligned ahead of roof completion, enabling coordinated installation of the flue roof flashing plate and flat roof felt for a clean, weather-tight finish.
Severe ash and soot build-up discovered during a stove inspection in Margate. The appliance had been operated with restricted air controls and incorrect fuel, leading to excessive deposits within the firebox and flue system. The stove was fully cleaned and the flue swept to restore safe operation and reduce the risk of chimney fire.

Structural chimney repair carried out in Dover using rope-access techniques, with safety cordons established at street level during the works. The project included removal and replacement of cracked chimney pots and new sharp sand and cement flaunching to the chimney crown. The rope-access method allowed full access to the chimney stack without the need for scaffolding, reducing disruption and overall project cost while maintaining safe working conditions throughout.

Bespoke gather hood designed, fabricated and installed to an open fireplace in a hotel lobby in Deal to eliminate smoke spillage. By reducing the effective opening area, intake air velocity is increased and flue draw improved — resolving a persistent smoking problem without altering the fireplace surround or requiring structural works.

Chimney sweep and bird nest clearance in Faversham. A substantial nest blockage was removed from the flue prior to the chimney being swept and inspected. A bird guard cowl was recommended on completion to prevent reoccurrence. Work carried out by a registered chimney sweep.
